Rolleston-on-Dove welcomes back the scarecrows, hosted by Burton Explorer Scouts. Fundraising for the local Scouts who have been selected, for International Camps including the World Scout Jamboree 2027.

The World Scout Jamboree is a global Scouting event that brings together young people and volunteers from across the world to share cultures, make international friendships, and take part in an exciting programme of activities. Held roughly every four years since 1920, the next Jamboree will take place in Gdańsk, Poland, in summer 2027. Its a truly a privilege to be selected and represent the UK.

The Rolleston-on-Dove Scarecrow Trail, we are calling our creative residents to design scarecrows on a theme and display them outside their houses. We will then create a map so people can ‘follow the trail’ and see all your creations!

This year’s theme is “Nursery Rhymes and Fairy-tales Scarecrows”. Think characters, Books, Folklore, mythical beings such are fairies, dragons, prince and princesses to evoke fond childhood memories, or anything family friendly. Use your imagination to turn it into a scarecrow! Your scarecrow can be as simple, elaborate or wacky as you like – but it should represent the theme.

There will be three prizes for the scarecrows which our judges (the good people of Rolleston) consider the best entries.
