The Carnival will return on Saturday 16th May 2026

Welcome to the Carnival!
The event begins at The Lawns in Rolleston (DE13 9DB), where the sections of the Scout Group will form up before parading to the Scout HQ (DE13 9AB).

Once the parade arrives, come and join the fun at the Carnival. We’ll have stalls, fantastic food, an amazing bar, and great entertainment throughout the day.

This year we are delighted to welcome Professor Pumpernickel!
Professor Pumpernickel is a high‑energy, comedic children’s science entertainer known for his “laboratory of lunacy”, packed with fire, explosions, and gloriously messy hands‑on demonstrations. With his trademark blue hair and eccentric German‑styled character, he inspires future scientists through lively shows covering physics, chemistry and biology.

He’ll be performing in the main hall, alongside the bar and tea rooms — so the kids can enjoy the show while you relax with tea and cake… or perhaps even a pint or two.

Our amazing catering team will keep you well fed with our butcher’s gourmet burgers, hog roast, and hot dogs for the little ones.

Out on the field you’ll find stalls, inflatables, children’s games, and the climbing wall in full operation — have a go if you dare!

All proceeds go directly towards keeping our fantastic Scout HQ running and maintained to the high standards you’ve come to expect.

We will have the traditional float procession through the village starting at The Lawns (DE13 9DB) @ 12:30pm and finishing at the Scout Headquarters (DE13 9AB), at which point the event will open.

 

Key stalls will accept cards and a cashback facility is available on the day.
