By adding your child to our waiting list and accepting a place in our group you as a parent are agreeing to our Parent Terms and Conditions for Joining 1st Rolleston Scout Group
Welcome to Rolleston Scout Group! We’re thrilled to have your child join our adventurous, inclusive, and values-led community. To ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for all, we ask parents and carers to read and agree to the following terms:
1. 🧒 Child Participation
- I understand that Scouting is a voluntary, non-profit programme run by trained volunteers.
- I will ensure my child arrives on time, appropriately dressed, and ready to participate in scheduled activities.
- “I will inform leaders of any medical, dietary, or additional needs that may affect my child’s participation. Should any of my child’s conditions change, I understand that in certain circumstances a care plan or increased parental involvement may be necessary.”
- 2. 🛡️ Safety and Behaviour
- I acknowledge that all activities are risk-assessed and delivered in line with Scout Association policies.
- I will support the group’s behaviour code and reinforce respectful, inclusive conduct at home.
- I understand that persistent disruptive or unsafe behaviour may result in temporary suspension or removal from the Scout Group.
3. 📅 Attendance and Communication
- “I will notify leaders in advance if my child cannot attend a session or event, and I understand that deposits or payments for activities or camps may be non-refundable.”
- I agree to read and respond to group communications (emails, texts, notices) in a timely manner.
- I will keep my contact details up to date and inform leaders of any changes by using the parent login on OSM
4. 💷 Fees and Fundraising
- I agree to pay termly subs and event fees by the stated deadlines, unless alternative arrangements are agreed.
- I understand that fundraising helps subsidise activities and I will support group efforts where possible.
5. 🎒 Uniform and Equipment
- I will ensure my child wears the correct uniform and brings any required kit for activities.
- I understand that lost property is my responsibility and leaders are not liable for personal items.
6. 📸 Media and Privacy
- I consent (or opt out) to my child being included in group photos/videos used for promotional or celebratory purposes.
- I understand that all personal data is handled in accordance with GDPR and Scout Association guidelines.
7. 🤝 Parent Involvement
- I will support the group by volunteering when possible—whether helping at events, joining the committee, or assisting with tasks.
- I understand that Scouting thrives on community support and my involvement helps sustain the programme.
By signing or continuing participation, I confirm that I have read and understood these terms. I agree to support the group’s values and work in partnership with leaders to ensure a positive experience for all.
